There are different ways how consciousness of the self can be intensified and, therefore, awareness of the own body can be felt.
The focus of the work lays on two very different ways of how this can be perceived. First on the intimacy of sexual contexts - where physical touch lets you feel your own body in an intensified way while bringing awareness to the parts being touched. And second, a completely different context, where the violent surveillance through the police and state system raises the awareness of the own body in a very negative way. Sometimes this kind of surveillance takes place through hidden video cameras that you know of, obvious collection of data through phone cameras or the very
presence and violence of police people.

The 3D scans of bodies were created as an act of intimacy with trust and consent. One channel is in color and the 3D scans evoke
intimacy combined with text about sexual and physical desires. The pictures don’t show idealized aesthetics of a body type, the bodies are fragmented, slightly distorted and zooms of certain body parts. The other channel shows body scans in black and white with effects that evoke a cold, slightly uncomfortable atmosphere. The text that appears with this channel talks about violent experiences connected with the abusive state and police surveillance system and the body. These videos are altered in surveillance aesthetics and sometimes go into abstraction. The content of the narration are ways or description of what could lead to a raise of the consciousness of the self. It involves double meaning in the narration,
so there will be the common denominator of both videos: the intensified consciousness of the self.
